Unfortunately after being with them 13+ years, we have been reminded repeatedly they are not looking out for your best interest. They are only trying to get fees from you and making sure they can make the most money from you. They don't care of customers loyalty. Their employees that aren't trained well, continuously can't give an answer or mess things up. Never seems to get fixed. Most smaller banks/credit unions work differently in regard to having a better connection with their customers, particularly when you are a very long time customer. Not them. (They respond saying to reach out to them, clearly knowing who I am, so they already know the issue, and tell me they want to resolve the issue, yet won't resolve? And they don't just call me? Also saying that i did a review already, don't think I did, is this to make it seem like 2 of their bad reviews are just one to make them look better?)

I am a member, and a former employee, which gives me a unique perspective of GECU. It is my opinion that the negative reviews on google aren’t fair. This is a small CU, with a highly personal aspect. The employees are genuinely trying to serve the membership and will do right on any issues that arise. Rates are VERY low. Give them a try.

I had been a member of GECU for several years while living in La Crosse. I just recently moved out of the area, so am no longer with them. The staff were very friendly, helpful and professional and I feel that I was always treated fairly. I was able to consolidate a credit card by getting a personal loan through them, which was great. I also worked with them to obtain pre-approval to purchase a home. I highly recommend GECU!

I was able to secure financing with a dealership for a toy at for HALF of what my current CU was offering. I find having the second place to bank kind of a hassle. For the savings, it was well worth it though. The online banking tools are a little lacking, and sluggish but sufficient to see that they received and applied my payments. Every time I call the branch, I hear a friendly voice and not a machine. Great service.

Sadly we have been with this credit union for many many years. We have had numerous loans through them and they have gotten a lot of business from us. We have even talked them up to many people. Unfortunately we have been treated quite poorly the last few years and we have no other choice than to switch banks. We have been told numerous times that they would reach out and fix situations, and things have not been resolved. They have also changed policies and programs that have made us realize other banks and credit unions now the better way to go.
