I have had an RV loan through this bank since 2013. I have found them to be hard to with on a regular basis. Their site is not easy to navigate and basically if you dont start a checking with them it is worthless. Want to make an extra payment on the RV? Have to call and set that up and we will have to charge you a transfer fee.
I did make the mistake of letting my insurance lapse when I first got started with them because my card number had changed and the insurance company didnt have my current address to mail me a status update. Horizon charged me 2000 bucks for not having coverage for about 3 days.
They started a new program for their auto pay. I set it all up sent them the required documents for the auto pay set up and they didnt charge me so I called to try and fix the issue and made the payment. They of course reported this to the credit agencies. The only loan I have ever had trouble with has been horizon. I will be selling the trailer soon and I cant wait to be free from this bank. I wouldnt reccomend this bank to anyone.

I have never in my life been ripped off by a bank that I was doing buisness with. Don't buy a CD from these people. If you're not at there door when it matures. They will renew it in another cd at .01 interest and charge you a penalty if you want to withdraw your money after that. Had to wait for an hour and fifteen minutes for customer service to listen to there (bs). Never again!!! Will be withdrawing my 16 thousand dollars.

TWICE this ATM has not dispensed my entire withdrawl. The first time, the teller just said " we don't handle that. Call YOUR credit union".
The second time, a month later, I was told "yes, that happens a lot, but we're going to work on it".
Yes, there is a process to get my funds reinstated, but the fact that they have waited over 30 days to repair a machine that is adversely affecting their customers, says a whole lot about how much they care about you.

Horizon Credit Union needs to review their policy
My father, who served in the military for decades, passed away last summer. He and my mother had purchased an RV trailer through HCU under his name. It was always paid on time and in fact was paid ahead of schedule.
Last month my mother (74years old) went in to Horizon credit union* to see the remainder amount, and make a payment (with documents saying she was in charge if his estate signed by a judge, and his death certificate). The lady said they required copies of original documents and would accept the payment but could not share the balance information explaining my mother "just didn't understand the financial world."
Frustrated my mother left, but it didn't stop there. The lady in charge of loans called my mother with three options
1) Pay it off
2) Re-apply for the loan under her name (adding at least .5% interest to the loan)
3) It would be repossess by the bank.
My mother asked me for help and I couldn't believe what I was hearing so I called HCU again to verify what they needed. They confirmed what she had said, and stated they needed an answer as to our intentions. I said I would like to talk to our attorney and there reply was "people who go that route never win"
I note these three things
1) There was no delay in payments, my mother had executive order over my dads estate. This is NOT the policy of other institutions
2) She was a recent widow who had a stroke the week my father died and that the agent could possibly have treated her with any respect.
3) Due to Covid-19, threatening an elderly person to sign documents "in person" is irresponsible.
This is in comparison to numerica credit union with a loan for the boat who spent at least 3 hours with my mother finding information about titles, property value and setting up payments for her but also now greets her by name.

I am very happy with the customer service at this location. They are easy to work with and aren't pushy about any of their products like most banks I've dealt with. Horizon also has pretty competitive interest rates.

Maybellene is FANTASTIC! I showed up with a big problem on behalf of our nonprofit organization and she understood what I wanted, better yet what I needed, and she, with the assistance of Jennifer, was able to take care of everything. She stayed with me throughout the entire process even though I took up about an hour of her day. I cannot say enough good about how cheerful they were, considering I complicated there Friday afternoon, on a payday no less.
Many thanks from our little Block 40 Community Club.
