I’ve had this bank for just about 2 years now, and I’ve never really used to have problems with them up until recently. I’ve only spoken to a handful of employees there who seemed actually genuine. I’ve run into issues depositing a check from the same employer I’ve had over the last year because of my name even though I’ve been depositing these checks for a very long time. Secondly, my wallet was stolen and whoever stole it tried to use my cards to purchase things. Police will do nothing about it because it’s attempted fraud not real fraud. Champion canceled my card and then DIDNT ORDER A NEW ONE FOR OVER TWO WEEKS. I canceled my card in person, and the person who canceled it couldn’t have ordered a new card for me? I waited on a card that was never even coming. I decided to empty my account because I obviously can’t trust them to keep my money safe if for whatever reason the person who stole my card actually finds a way to use it. Then champion to top this all off allows my account to go over 200 in the negative after I told them to disable my account temporarily which they didn’t do. My autopay bills kept trying over and over and over, even though I called those companies and told them everything that happened. So I go to champion, speak to the first helpful employee in a long time. She understands why I’m starting to hate this bank. She calls her manager to ask to reverse at least some of the overdraft fees. Her manager says she will only reverse one overdraft fee if I can bring a police report. Earlier I mentioned that I cannot get a police report because it is “attempted” fraud. Now I’ve been calling for two days and can’t get ahold of an answer. Today I believe I will post about this everywhere so people can avoid this local bank and empty/close my account. I had a check of 300 dollars that I was assured I could go ahead and deposit because “I’m sure we can get these fees taken care of.” I trusted them when I should’ve closed the account right there so I could’ve had my check money in my pocket, not paying off 200 of overdraft fees. A lot of the employees are stuck up. I really appreciate the ones who aren’t. If someone tries to help me today then I will update my reviews and applaud them for helping.

My husband and I have had an account at Champion Credit Union for many years. Most of the time we use the drive-thru, however, every single time we've entered the bank, we are met with great customer service. Their staff makes banking easy, and they do it with a great attitude. All of the employees are super friendly at the Waynesville branch!

I have been with Champion Credit Union for at least 10 years now. They have always done a great job for me and I have seen tellers advance to manager positions so I think the people that work there like it too. Never had a bad experience and they have always been prompt, accurate, and polite.
I am not too crazy about their debit card system though as it has a small zone and a limit on how much you can debit in a day. You have to call to let them know you are traveling out of the area in advance and that is a pain to drive to Ohio and not be able to get gas because of "Loss Prevention" Pretty sure their debit cards are managed elsewhere though. All this is probably for my protection, but I am not crazy about it.
And, they wouldnt initially give me a car loan but I wouldnt either if I were them. They seem to have responsible money management there and I was not the best risk at the time.

Recently went in to open a credit card account. The people were wonderful, the process was a little slow, but left feeling confident in the abilities of the people. It has been almost two weeks, still do not have a credit card. Called Champion, the cards were never ordered and it will take another 7 to 10 business days before I get them. Not feeling so confident.

I have had a couple of different loans here! Ben Bailey- Bank Manager, has made this process so easy. He is available for me whenever I need him, and answers emails after hours... anything to ensure that my banking experience with Champion is the perfect one! They have great offers on several different loan programs!
Give Ben a call!!

Champion Credit Union is a fantastic bank! Every employee I have encountered so far is extremely friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. I have done business with many other banks in my career, both personally and professionally, and this bank and its group of employees is top notch! I honestly would not do business with any other bank in the future.
