This place used to be great but ever since the pandemic it's just AWFUL. The small town feel is gone. The video teller thing is a joke. The wait times are HORRIBLE, and they've just made it such a pain to do any banking AT THE BANK. If we didn't have so much tied up with them (business, personal, etc) we would be out of there. It's been pretty bad for a couple years, but today was the last straw for me. I drove all the way across town, even though my work commute takes me 45 minutes in the opposite direction, to drop my paycheck in the night deposit box (because every time I try to mobile deposit it they put a hold on it, even though I've had the same payroll check since MARCH), BUT THE BOX WAS LOCKED. Apparently, since everything is video teller now, us SUPER BUSY people must have to use our entire lunch break to get our paycheck deposited. Maybe the small handful of people that still come into your building should be trained on depositing a handful of deposits each morning.
I gave one star for the decent mobile banking and one star for the few employees there that have been pretty good to us over the years.

My girlfriend has an account here and she constantly gets charges for multiple hundreds of dollars that she has to call to dispute. After this whole situation someone closed the account and took the money, without her permission. Only use this bank if you like losing money.

Worst bank I’ve ever used and I plan on changing banks as soon as possible because I’ve had it, they are constantly holding my checks from me till later dates and I can’t have access to my own money unless I call and ask them to deposit it right away and I currently need to pay rent and I can’t get ahold of anyone so I can withdraw my money. I wish I could give negative ratings because this bank is terrible!

UPDATE 06-08-2022 - I have received zero means of communication from Summit to make this right.

I am perplexed that with all the privacy policies and confidentiality agreements you have in place for your employees and the business, that you can share a MINORS social security card and birth certificate documents, with an individual without our consent.
Personal information was also viewed on our account that should have never been seen by anyone but an employee.
I question the integrity and morals of this business, and to say we feel betrayed is an understatement. You have lost our trust.

They have the sign for the first lane drive thru marked as closed which I was told once there it’s only with appointments, but it would make better sense to have a sign which states appointment only lane and have the top sign marked as open. If you need a new card, you can use the first lane to get one without an appointment. I waited 50 plus minutes to get one but eventually I got a new card.
The teller didn’t want to help so she passed on my card to another teller. Working at a bank does not make you special or entitled to only help certain people. If I say “my card isn’t working” there is no need to ask “what’s wrong with it” after I already told you it’s not working, I need a new one. I’m paying for the new card, not the teller so what’s the problem in replacing it. Why the hostility? An ATM machine can replace you, give it the ability to make new cards and I will gladly use it instead of dealing with rude tellers.

I am a retired lawyer with 30+ years experience. I worked in banks as a teller and proof machine operator while I did my undergrad- no matter where I was in school, there was a bank hiring. As a teller, I was primarily assigned to run a drive through window. Usually worked both jobs at the same time. Both the customer service and the long hours were great training for my ultimate career.
I became a Summit customer today at the Baraboo branch. I was wisked in quickly, got a same day meeting with Lending Advisor Schell, who walked me through all of my questions and concerns efficiently and thoroughly. The tellers I spoke with were just as helpful.
I went to Summit as a colleage went through Summit's money management competition and has been complimentary. Word of mouth has consequences.
Ms. Schell did not know my background. I am more critical than the average customer as a lifelong customer service worker. My experience was wonderful! I highly recommend Summit Credit Union in Baraboo.

My wife and I moved to the area after recently retiring and with interest rates so high decided to ladder money in CD.
Went to Summit and was told they were booked and were not sure when we could make an appointment to open and account and sign up for CD but maybe they could do a video call. I just stood there looking around the place was empty thinking is this a joke.
Sadly to say we left went to WCCU and was taken care of right away.
My suggestion is stay away!!!

They used to be great, we referred so many people here. Now I tell everyone to go literally anywhere but here. We are pulling all of our accounts, so are a bunch of our friends and relatives. I've yet to hear a good thing about them lately, everyone has all bad things to say about how they have been the past few years. Stay away from this place!!!
