I am frustrated with this bank. I have an HOA account set up here and only need to get online about every 6 months to deposit checks. Because I don't use it enough, they cancelled my online account and now I have to go back into the branch to get a new user name and PW. Very inconvenient. Very assnine that they cancel your online account if you don't use it more than monthly.

Not necessarily this branch, but regardless. Unbelievably unhelpful over their broken phone system that doesn't work until 10:30am. Then we are required to use an antiquated FAX machine to get a 20 day payoff on a client's car? When a dealership has access to the vin, birthdate and credit info just work with them, people! Potential clients should find a more modern, convenient bank to work with.

When I was 16, I had just assumed that if you overdraw your checking account, it would simply pull from your savings account. I was a reasonably bright kid, and so this kind of feature seemed pretty obvious. I didn't even think twice.
Turns out that was wrong, but CCU didn't notify me until I had overdrawn like $350 in fees.
They offered to waive half the fees, but that was still a deal breaker, since as the consumer I had a perfectly reasonable expectation that this wouldn't have been a problem. After all, my transactions had been going through for days at this point - where's the problem? Today of course, dozens of banks have zero overdraft fees. Not sure about CCU, but I like SoFi.
Anyway, this was like 13 years ago, but people don't forget.

Columbia Credit Union has become the bane of my existence. I moved out of state but still had my credit card, car loans, all that stuff. I was in between jobs that paid monthly and had a month where I didn’t get paid. My checking accidentally went negative. They wouldn’t work with me under extenuating circumstances. Now my credit card is locked, can’t get a replacement, can’t make automatic payments to my loans. I closed my checking accounts and I’m now working vigorously to get everything paid off so I can cut ties. They used to be fantastic but now their customer service has gone downhill. I wouldn’t recommend it. So much for community.
