i needed to withdraw my CD at maturity, and asked that they either mail me a check, or transfer the proceeds to my checking account...they refused, and said i needed to come into the branch to physically pick up the check (i've used other banks where this was not a problem)...i was out of state at the time, but they still would not release the funds and rolled it over into a new CD, without my permission...i had to go into the branch when i returned and pay a penalty to withdraw the funds! i will NEVER bank with them again!!

Becka, very bad and amateur cus rep, tried to make sure the bank charged you fee correctly even if fee was ridiculous and would try to blame customer error. Very shady practice, in my opinion. BE aware!! SWITCH TO BIG BANKS.

I have generally had a pleasant time moving from Bank of America over to HomeStreet. My problem isn't with the branch but with using the online services. Every time I try to connect with my financial software (iBank) I get error messages. I contacted someone from HS about this online but there hasn't been a fix yet for a really long time (this has probably been over the course of the last six months to a year.) Having to go to a web browser to download transactions is not an acceptable solution. Everybody wants to download transactions through there financial app. This shouldn't be a complicated thing to do.
I spent some time using HS's website through the web browser where I found I was a bit frustrated to discover that you can only download transactions in 45 day increments. Since I use HS mainly as a savings account the only thing I have to download are interest payments every month. I would like to be able to download all the transactions from the last year at once but you can't do that with the way it is currently set up. Neither of these online problems are an issue with Bank of America.
On the plus side the iPhone app has improved dramatically which is important as more people do mobile banking. Banking in person has been a good experience for me. They were able to set me up with a deal that had good interest. I am hoping that these online issues get resolved quickly. Online banking is obviously a big deal these day so problems like these need to be ironed out by now.

I cannot recommend this branch. The manager was rude on several occasions. Where's the customer service?
