Honestly the worst banking experience I have EVER had in my life. I sent my car loan payment via bill pay (with documentation showing that the money was withdrawn from my account -before my due date), and due to either a system error on my primary bank's end, or a postal service delay, the payment arrived to Red Canoe late. They immediately reported this to all three credit bureaus (which is how I found out about the "late" payment in the first place), and my score dropped 117 points - I have never missed a car payment in my life. I am in the middle of buying a house. I called the bank multiple times to explain what happened, and there is "nothing they can do" and obviously could not care less. I absolutely cannot refinance this loan with another lender fast enough. Please, please, please AVOID THIS BANK. I will for sure be telling everyone I know (including the finance manager at the dealership who works with this place) to avoid at all costs.

Very disappointed with this bank. Today we took our 7 year old son there as customers with this bank to have his piggy bank counted and exchanged for dollar bills, we went there because as a child growing up banks always did this as a courtesy to their customers for free - they even had to HAND COUNT IT! Today, we arrived to be told to go to their money counting machine which charged us a fee to get our money exchanged. I’m so tired of the laziness, lack of customer service, greed these days, etc.! Had we known this ahead of time we would have just used the same machine at Walmart with more convenient hours. We won’t be recommending this lazy, greedy bank again. Where has quality customer service gone. It’s not like we didn’t give them the exact money we wanted in exchange. They also did zero work counting the change - a machine did. Sigh. Won’t be returning.

As a member of a couple of other credit unions, both my bank cards were denied service. I used to be able to deposit checks here no more. Staff is really great, they try to help. For a credit union the management is terrible

My wife and I save our silver change all year for our vacation spending fund and we cash it in when we are going to go. So we took our jug of change in and there was a sign saying they were now charging 5% to members for cashing in change. We had $563.25 in change and ended up paying the credit union $28.16 to cash it in. This is so ridiculous. They already make money off our money in our accounts. They are charging because they now use a 3rd party to supply the coin machine and I assume maintain it. If you have accounts at Fibre Federal they do not charge and I was informed that they have no plans to charge for this service. Bad way to treat you members Red Canoe. This is probably especially hard for those that cash in change because that’s all they have and you come and take a cut of it. Rather greedy if you ask me especially with everything else going on in this world.

I've had accounts at credit unions all across the country. This one is getting these stars because it's fairly mixed bag. I still prefer it to a large national bank. Here are my reasons:
1.) They clear up problems as they arise, but I've had quite a few more problems with them than the average credit union.
2.) Somehow, someone got into my account via my debit card. I only use the checking account for digital transactions (i.e.: pay credit cards off monthly because they provide better fraud protection) and checks. I had an issue where someone purchased bus tickets and other miscellaneous items in the Netherlands from Mexico. I've been to neither place. Still not sure how the scammer got access to my debit number, as I can't recall using it in the past year. As a result, I no longer have a debit card attached to my checking account and it suits me fine. They fixed the problem and refunded my money, but I'm still puzzled as to how it happened without my using the debit card.
3.) Inconsistent check deposit policies. I often get checks sent in both I and my spouse's name. Until recently, they had no problem accepting the signed over check. Today, I received a call that they couldn't deposit a check because we didn't have joint accounts (and never have) and that they couldn't for one reason or another. A few months ago they did, so I thought this wouldn't be an issue. As this is a personal account, no problem. I'll just have the check resent in my name only. The inconsistency is frustrating.
So, the people are nice enough in every interaction I've had, but I cringe every time I receive a call from them. They seem to create a lot of their own problems. I just wish I wasn't on the receiving end. I'll retain my account, but I'll keep an eye out for a back up bank.

Hands down the best banking institution I have ever used. The customer service is unrivaled, the ease of driv thru(for this location as it’s the only one I usually use) is amazing. Always very friendly. We have opened accounts for our children as well through them. We come from Chase originally and the difference is so awesome it’s just incredible. Thank you to everyone at red canoe who makes it such a great place to bank.

Out of all the credit unions I’ve been a member of, the team at Red Canoe have been, by far , the BEST.❤️

Doesn’t follow through and loses paperwork. Lack of support for military and federal employees PCSing. Doesn’t even try to resolve their errors but instead makes you go back and find copies of the documents they created and sent to you. Wouldn’t recommend.
