I went to Valley Star in Fishersville this morning 10:33 AM
to make a cash deposit into my savings account. On arrival two employees were on a cell phone laughing at some post.. I said, “I am from Waynesboro this is quite a trek.I have never been here before”
The employee to the left of the teller that was taking care of my deposit said, “ You mean you’ve never been to Fishersville?” I said, “This area has grown and I haven’t been here before”.
I said, “Would I be able to transfer my money from another bank to my account?” Again the same individual standing to the the left of the teller engaged in my transaction, speaks up, “ You will have to be computer savvy to that.” I answered, “My husband and I have several accounts and we transfer money .” I have already set up an account on the internet and a password.” The same individual says, Just go to external transfers.” When I left I said , “ I do know where Fishersville is”.
I am 82 years old, well educated and have a sound mind. I left Valley Star feeling my age was targeted, To say she was condescending is an understatement.
I will be withdrawing my savings.
