Out of the blue I get a letter in the mail from a Mr. Bill Callaghan of Blue Ridge Bank, thanking me for opening an account! Odd, since I never did that, nor used a bank that even remotely resembles Blue Ridge Bank. Attempting to get a hold of Mr. Callaghan has proved elusive. And I was told by an associate at the bank that fraud or identity theft wasn't a concern to her, because she always keeps track of her account activity! DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!

BEWARE. I recently created an account with Stessa Property Management software to allow collection of rent online from tenants. Stessa's set up process in no indicated a bank account would be created, but I was sent an email that indicates a bank account was created in my name with Blue Ridge. Upon contacting Blue Ridge regarding this unauthorized account I was told that they couldn't even verify if the bank account number that I was given is for an account at their bank and that all inquiries would have to go through Stessa - which they have partnered with. Blue Ridge was not able to confirm nor disprove that an unauthorized account was created in my name with their bank. BEWARE.

SCAM ALERT!
We received a check for $1.00 attached to a letter stating that our "Aeldra" account has been closed due to fraud. This is the remaining amount in our account. Never heard of them. This is a scam to access your legitimate bank account number if you try to cash it.

Long story short, Blue Ridge was my lender for my ppp loan. There was some difficulties with the technology company Smartbiz and my 2nd draw loan. Michael Knotts responded my inquiries and was GREAT at first, but then outta no where he DISAPPEARED!
Stopped responding to my 5-6 emails. Ignored my phone calls. Smartbiz told me the issues, straightened it out and ultimately BRB funded my loan. However , if that’s they way they treat customers, thanks for the loan but no thanks to Blue Ridge Banking.

Have had numerous issues over the last 8 years of banking with Blue Ridge. Please don’t take their word on bank polices as they do not honor their word, but get them in print— wish I had done that. That’s why I’m refinancing my mortgage through another bank.This morning was the last straw! I had to get a manager approval to deposit a check that I have deposited monthly for the last 8 years. My husband and my name was on the check, but because I am the only one with a checking account I needed to have the manager approve the check and waited 10 minutes for that. I was only depositing and making a truck payment that is only in my husband’s name. The head teller said she could be fired if she didn’t get the approval—- she’s been doing it for the last 8 years. I will be closing all accounts and also transferring my car loan.
