This bank has the best staff. They are always courteous and kind to me, even with four little kids in tow. They help me sort out my personal and work account needs. This EECU always puts the customers first. The loan officer, Michael McBride is the cream of the crop, amazing! He has been fantastic at answering all the questions my husband and I throw his way. He has setup up loans for us over the years, and always makes it effortless. Not sure what others say about this EECU, but if you live life doing what right… you will not be disappointed with this bank & its crew. Life can be frustrating, but it’s nice to know there are GOOD people to turn to!

The dealership set me up with EECU when I purchased a car. That car was totaled this year, it was a terrible situation. I thought everything was taken care of until I get a letter in the mail saying there is a savings account in my name worth $900. Apparently the gap insurance was refunded and instead of sending me the check they put my money in a savings account. I went online today asking to have the account closed, they told me I have to write a physical letter, sign and mail it. I demanded my account number so I could set up online banking and transfer the money, I get told the account is "under review" and will take 2 days to access. This is a hostage situation at this point. I would finance a bike from a dude in a back alley before I would ever finance a car through this bank again.

I have not had any issues personally with EECU, other than trying to purchase a vehicle with cash and EECU refused to lift my debit card limit to complete the transaction. I had to take an extra trip to the dealership with a Cashier's Check, which was honestly not that big of a deal.
However, recently my fiancee's debit card was compromised. We now live out in Dallas so getting to an EECU is a good drive. I took us to the nearest EECU over an hour away to get the card replaced. They were in the process of upgrading their machines, supposedly, to print out new debit cards with contactless features. The tap to pay feature that you see attached to many machines now, such as gas pumps.
That is awesome in my opinion. I absolutely embrace innovation and progress. She had bills coming up so it was imperative to have the problem resolved as soon as possible. She was having a panic attack and went out to the car while I arranged a new Debit Card to be mailed to her. The new debit card is in braille and from what I understand that is a security risk.
The Debit Card number was already imprinted on the envelope it was mailed in. The reason I am writing this review is to seek assurance that this is not putting the customer at risk. To have the debit card replaced due to being compromised with one that may be easier to compromise is a bit silly. She is upset, and unfortunately I don't have the expertise in financial security to comfort her.
Can an EECU representative comfort our concerns?

This review is not about this branch, but EECU as a whole.
When I purchased my Tahoe, the dealership got me an APR that was just a touch lower with EECU than with my normal bank. Had I known I would be immediately bombarded with offer after offer for insurance, mortgages and everything else I never would have done it. I'll be contacting my normal bank today to re-fi my auto loan at a higher rate just to stop this madness. You will never, ever, get any additional business from me.

Update below.
DO NOT GET A LOAN FROM EECU. The worst experience I have ever had with a bank. We had a loan through them and wired the payoff after our house sold. They fought us on the payoff for 3 weeks and tried to charge us interest on a loan we paid off. it's still not resolved and we have had multiple calls with them. 0 stars isn't an option, but everyone be warned away from this bank.
Update:
Our issue is resolved but required a manager to intervene. I find it discomforting that insufficient notes of interactions were kept and it required reviews of our prior phone calls to show the agents we talked to did not close out the loan.
We were promised that training and updates are happening for those involved, but it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
