I just wanted to share that every time I have come in to do business with this bank that every single person has greeted me with a smile and a hello how can I help you! They have consistently given me great customer service in a timely manner. I also had to purchase international money and the gal that helped me was so amazing! She was beyond professional and courteous!!!! What ever you do, keep that gal employed!

My whole year experience here has left much to be desired. Super inconvenient hours and their whole online banking system is out dated and slow. They don't update their system at all between Saturday morning and Tuesday morning, so don't expect to be checking your account and get an accurate reading. My one plus is their staff; they all seem fairly friendly and willing to assist in any issues you may have. HIGHLY suggest looking into another bank if you don't have oodles of disposable income and favor convenience.

Independent Bank (IB) has about 84 locations in TX and CO. Policy at this Farmersville branch comes directly from IB headquarters in McKinney, TX. Employees at this Farmersville, TX branch are only following policy from HQ and did not create the false flyers and misrepresentations. All employees at the Farmersville branch were polite and kind. But here're my warnings from last week's bad experience: BEWARE of opening a Platinum Checking Account styled for Seniors age 55+. BEFORE opening this account, ask to see and read the LAST PARAGRAPH of "Terms and Conditions of Your Account" under "(38) Additional Terms" on page 10. You will read that IB will divide your Platinum Savings Account into two parts and then will DENY you ACCESS to one part! You will NOT be informed of this BEFORE you sign to open the account and receive 32 pages of boiler plate rules! Direct quotes from the first six sentences of the last paragraph on page 10 under Terms and Conditions follow: "We have organized your account in nontraditional way. Your account consists of two subaccounts. One of these accounts is a transaction subaccount (e.g., a checking account). You will transact business on this subaccount. The other is a nontransaction subaccount (e.g. a savings account). YOU CANNOT DIRECTLY ACCESS THE NONTRANSACTION SUBACCOUNT..."(emphasis mine). I would have used this account to buy my next car, so at some point, I would want to cash in almost all of it. But how is that possible if I am denied access to half of my OWN money?! Conclusion: due to IB's "nontraditional" double-talk, I closed my Platinum Checking Account on the next business day. Now I hope there are no shenanigans associated with IB's 13-month promotional CD, which is currently at 2.52% APY.
