This bank is by far the worst bank I have ever went to. Not to mention every single week there’s a different problem going on with your account, such as money getting taken out or them pausing your account for no reason. The customer service is also horrible everyone who works here is rude!

My 96 year old mother and I went into the Georgetown SC branch of South State Bank to make a modification to an existing account and open another account. We were told to sit outside three offices and wait for one of the banking employees (not a teller) to help us. One female employee was on the phone which appeared personal since her personal cell phone was being referenced. She finished her call did some other things and made another call. The second female employee was working at her computer; we were in her line of sight. The third female employee (not in line of sight) never left her office. After about 20 minutes, a customer walked in and the teller sent her to the farthest office from us. At this point we left the bank and will not open another account and will likely close the existing account.
