Edit: I am changing my review from yesterday. One of the bank managers contacted me this morning and helped resolve this issue.
I had a great experience with PCU. However, with Coastal1, not so much. I called last week and was told about an economic hardship form for my car loan. I was told the forms were to be emailed to me. I checked over my emails and I didn't see any forms. Yesterday, I had surgery, so I made sure to call today about my payment. I said I didn't receive any forms. My plan was to pay for August and then fill out a form and pay $40.00 so that I could skip September's payment and pay again in October. I literally was crying so hard - I was so upset. The gentleman on the phone a bit ago told me that because I didn't not receive the form, I now have to pay August and September. And that I could fill a form out and pay $40.00 to skip October's payment. I asked once more if there was anything else I could do. I wanted clarification. So, even though the bank made a mistake about sending me the paperwork, it is still my fault. I'm so disgusted right now. I was trying to get help in a really bad time, so I would be put into collections. There aren't any words.

I'm so happy to see that I'm not the only one that thinks the customer service at this bank is awful.... When did it get to the point when customer service was no longer necessary or genuine? I could go through a diatribe explaining the process in which I needed to build my wheelchair get out to my car break my wheelchair down so on and so forth just to end up at a bank where they sat me in front of some pretty worker who loves her dogs..... But basically put no effort into helping me solve what seemed to be a pretty simple situation... You made a phone call to someone somewhere and spoke about me as though I wasn't in the room.... Sorry my disease was an inconvenience for you... but you can imagine how much more of an inconvenience it is for me... Especially when I work as much as I'm allowed and the money that I receive is precious to my well-being..... I literally told you that I would be without food for the month if you allowed that transaction to be processed...... I basically got a big **** ***.......

I have been a member of this bank for well over 50 years. As I'm reading these reviews, I'm wondering, who are these people?
I must agree that recently the phone service has been a little poor but I also waited an hour for a food order at a local restaurant, other banks have a very long hold time. Most businesses are calling folks back almost 11/2 hours later as there is a shortage of help everywhere.
As far as interest rates go. I'd like to know who thinks the interest rates there are low as I do check the banks regularly and these are currently the best I've seen. Their CD's are the best around with easy access.
Can't make everyone happy.

If I could give this credit union zero stars I would. Every way to pay back a loan incurs a fee. They don't disclose fees that have been reinstated from Covid. I have paid my loans above the minimum payment on time for three years and I get hit with a $15 fee to pay via automated phone call?! Insanity. Customer service leaves a lot to be desired when I called to ask about why this fee was added. WHY ARE YOU CHARGING ME TO PAY MY LOAN?? Do not use this credit union for anything, i will be refinancing my loan to another company.

Since PCU went "coastal" and sent out new checks, each trip I make to the branch requires a manager to do a computer override in order for me to cash a personal check. I realize that branch managers are just the "hired help" and have no real authority, but I'm wondering why those setting up these computer programs aren't more efficient. After all, you folks sent ME the new checks. It's awkward and embarrassing when this happens. I'm beginning to have second thoughts about joining your organization because of my recent experiences and the negative reviews I've just seen.

My husband lost his Debit Card after bank was closed..... He call the online banking to report the card was lost. The online service did NOT accept his Soc Sec # or the last 4 digets of his card. WE now have to wait til 8am to report it lost. This is not good. whoever finds his card can use it anywhere now with the "Tap Key " at most stores!!!!!

Money hungry cult. I had a car loan through this company and was financing when someone totaled my car. It took a long time to process everything so I kept making payments on the loan despite the hardship I was faced with. Then I received money to pay the loan in FULL. Yet coastal 1 credit union has harassed me for almost a year and tanked my credit for $400 yet they can’t tell me what it’s for, why there’s an extra balance after they got payed out, no written breakdowns, NOTHING. I honestly live alone, I went without a car for over a month having to Uber so I don’t have an extra $400 to pay you that you can’t confirm the reasoning for when I had full gap insurance pay my car off. I would NEVER recommend doing any work with these people and I refuse to pay something that can’t be broken down for me so good luck. They’ll laugh in your face, act like you’re broke, and say it’s “crazy” that you can’t just pay them. The rest of the reviews speak for itself.

I just opened an account and the online banking system is awful. It’s updated every 5 days it seems. You never have a live view of what your account balance is or of what you’ve recently deposited or withdrew. It’s awful to not know what the accurate amount of money is in your own account. Looking for a new bank. Any suggestions!!
