I’ve never seen or heard of so many issues with banking before in my life. My fiancé and his sister bank with Westmoreland Federal and had numerous instances of overdrawing with insufficient balances. Whereas with most other banks if you have insufficient balances your card or the payment will be declined. Numerous instances of their cards just being locked at random with sufficient funds. Which, they need to call the bank to resolve. It can’t be undone in the app, speaking of which they’ve both had issues with being unable to access their online account for days at a time. Great bank if you’re trying to rebuild credit or get your assets in order, otherwise I wouldn’t bother opening an account here.

I’ve done banking with Westmoreland Federal savings and loan since 2007. I have utilize their savings accounts as well as their mortgage and lending services. They have never sold my loan, refinancing my house was a breeze, and I absolutely love doing business with them.

The worst banking experience I have had in my life.
I was without a debit card for a month. I had closed my old account at Woodforest due to Westmoreland Federal Savings telling me my debit card would be at my house in 7-14 business days. After 14 business days I was starting to get concerned. I called them to explain my situation. I told them that I was very disappointed in the way things have started out. I let the bank manager know that I rely on my debit card for “InstaCart” (groceries). I had to go 3 weeks without purchasing groceries, to be delivered to my
home. While still waiting for my debit card, I called the bank back to inquire once again where my debit card was. That’s when I was told it must have been “lost in the mail, we are overnighting it, tomorrow.” I then was told the bank manager would call me when my debit card arrived at the Latrobe Branch. This is where I finally had had enough. I did not use one profanity towards the girl, however, gave her my two cents about the experience. That’s when she (bank manager) informed me, that even though I hadn’t gotten my debit card in the mail yet, upper management told her to close my account, no questions asked, nor warnings given if I still am unsatisfied. After that, I was left begging Westmoreland Federal Savings to not close my bank account, “I need food…” the banking manager ended up not closing my bank account. That right there showed me that this bank does not care about You, nor does it care about Me.
Their mobile banking app does not work half the time. Will not get passed the “cloud screen”. Or, crashes out completely. They have outdated technology that freezes. It happened to me the first day of me opening my bank account.
I switched banks to “Clearview Federal Credit Union”. They made me feel very welcome & not unwanted / unneeded / not important. Clearview Federal Credit Union is very close to Westmoreland Federal Savings, much more up to date with today’s world.
To the upper management at Westmoreland Federal Savings, shame on You & your morals. Garbage Bank, Garbage morals.
