We just moved into the area and wanted to open an account with a credit union. Let me tell you - this was not the one. We wanted to make a large purchase and we called beforehand to make sure that we would not get declined. Well, that’s when we were told there was a $600 limit. Can I get that increase over the phone? Nope! I have to come into the branch, fill out paper work, and then it needs to be approved AND THEN I can use my own money. Because of this we went in to close our account. We made an appointment ahead of time because we had a large amount of money and that would need to be withdrawn because we are closing our account. We expected all cash since that is what we deposited and that was the point of making an appointment - so that the bank was prepared for us to withdraw. They said they can only do check. We say “well, that is why we made an appointment so that you guys are prepared on your end.” They replied with saying “well, you didn’t tell us your account number” and we say “well we gave our name and didn’t know we had to give our account number, the clerk over the phone did not ask” they replied “that was your job and therefore it is your fault we are not prepared” I couldn’t believe it! Stay away from this bank. They are super outdated and inconvenient and just plain rude.

We’ve been with Choice One for many years and have never regretted making the switch. The office staff in Hazleton and Wilkes Barre have always been kind, and willing to help when a question arises. The fraud alert system they have in place on our accounts is very reassuring. When we use our cards out of the area we immediately get a phone call checking to see if it’s us. That puts us at ease knowing that we are always protected. Thanks Choice One!

I have been a customer for close to 20 years and have always had the best customer service and never had issues. However, the last 3 years has been hell. From issues with not allowing me to use my card to purchase from sites on the internet as well as giving me a runaround story about why I couldnt just use my card at checkout when I was trying to purchase a $900 couch. (Apparently big purchases are a no-no?) The Hazleton staff is very rude on the phone (when they answer it) and once hung up on me. Either retrain or restaff that office.

Every time I go into the Hazleton office of Choice One they are always so friendly. If I am unsure about something they go out of their way to help. I have known Rosemary Boros for many years . She is the kindest person to help you with all transactions!

Very RUDE. I called about my balance because my QUATERLY STATEMENT was WRONG and she had the AUDACITY to hang up on me and REFUSE customer service. I see why a lot of people closed their Christmas account. Work on customer service being helpful and FRIENDLY

Hazleton is always my go to place when I need financial help. The girls at this office are exceptional. I don’t know all their names but they all should be rewarded. I recently moved to Texas and they made my transition great and answered all my questions.

The staff at the Hazleton branch are always very friendly and helpful. Location is easy to get to and wait times short. I’ve never had a bad experience any time I’ve been there. Keep up the great work!!!

Many thanks to Kim and other kind employees at this bank. We called ahead, and got clear friendly direction followed by kind service on an important transaction between states. Excellent customer service and banking experience.
