I have had an account with Columbia Bank when they were West Coast Bank and before that when it was Commercial Bank. I believe it’s been over 30 years. In that time I have not bounced a check or done anything but make deposits and pay my bills. The one reason I stayed with them for so long, when it’s not conveniently located for me, was because it still had a small town feeling and the tellers knew me. If I had a banking question they knew me and they helped me. Once I had gone overdrawn and they called me because they knew it was unusual. They had accidentally put my deposit in my savings and just needed to move it to checking. That was the customer service that made me brag to all my clients and convince dozens to move there.
Yesterday I called because I thought our automatic deposit was going in on January 5th so had set four payments to automatically come out with bill pay. Instead the automatic deposit came out in the 6th and they charged me $140 in insufficient funds fees (four 4 transactions). The bank I’ve been loyal to for 30 years would have called me as I had money in several other accounts I could have transferred from. Instead when I called to explain what happened they begrudgingly reimbursed half the rip off charge. I’m glad to know I don’t have to feel loyal to them any longer. It will be a lot easier to move to a bank where they are open on Saturdays and I will have no expectations that they will have my back. Clearly those days are over.

I find this bank to be friendly and helpful. They recognize me when I come in and I recognize them i.e. the employees tend to stay there and not 'turn over' every 6 months. And Friday is cookie day. Or at least used to be before the flu from China visited us. I've been a customer for 15 years and definitely recommend this bank .

It's not a surprise that I'm the third out of three one star reviews. They made our lives miserable in terms of making changes to our account and then nearly impossible when we were fed up and wanted to move our money out. Our new credit union treats us what sometimes feels like royalty, and Columbia did nothing but give us the polar opposite. I should also add that unlike most banks, they don't even offer Saturday hours. It must be nice to live in their alternative world, but it shouldn't and won't be with OUR money.

Sobthe tellers are very polite and helpful. The only reason I had to give a 4 star rating is because its very fustrating not to be able to bank on Saturday's. Other than that I have nothing negative to comment about.

Love the ladies that work here! They are always welcoming and super helpful! Been with them for about 5 years now and I’ve never had an issue.
