I have had a loan with the Mentor Office for a couple of years now. I asked several times if I could change my due date in the beginning of the loan because it coincides with too many other bills due at the same time. They were never willing to work with me on it. My payment was $370 something and I always paid $400 per month. Which more than covered my late fee each month if I paid after the 28th.
I was constantly sent “offers” to refinance my loan so I found recently that I needed to “accept” the offer. I followed the procedure of doing it online and it automatically went back to the Mentor Branch. Had I known this, I would NOT of applied this way. I got a call from the branch and I assumed they were calling me about my new application. They were not... they called about my payment, I asked about my new application and was told they wouldn’t even talk to me about it until I made the payment. I agreed to pay on Thursday. I made my payment as agreed. I never got any follow up call so I happened to stop into another branch close to my work almost a week later to ask the status of my new application. I then received a nasty phone message (which I saved) from the Mentor Manager saying there was some confusion as I was denied... I was never told at any time I would be denied during the phone call about my payment. I will also be sending my voicemail I received along with a complaint to corporate about how my new loan application was handled. If I could rate “0” stars I would.
If you find you need some money, go to a different branch.

I have been dealing with Onemain for a few years now. They gave me a loan for a car, then a consolidation loan. Kept everything current and got a better rate. They worked ou tv a deal where I pay over $400 less a month and only have one payment a month. This has been a great experience and they've always been respectful and professional. Good people and a good company

From the moment I spoke with Lauren to the moment I signed on the dotted line this experience has been awesome! She made sure to explain everything I needed to do to make this loan happen and make it something I would be comfortable paying back! Great experience . I recommend them whole heartedly!!

You apply online. They preapprove you. Then continue the application for a hard credit hit. Just to call you and ask if you own a vehicle or have a cosigner and then they deny you... great thanks for saying I'm preapproved. Yeah preapproved for a hard credit hit on my credit report and I get no approval. Lovely company you have!

They pre-approved me then said I can't get a loan unless I own my car to put up for collateral? What kind of shady place is this? I thought title loans were illegal in Ohio anyways? So now their going against laws?

Stay far away from this place at all costs. I've been making payments for two years and my original balance has doubled. This place is predatory and misleading and shouldn't be allowed to operate. I have good credit now and I am seriously thinking about ruining all my hard work and letting this loan default. I absolutely refuse to continue to pay faithfully and owing more and more.

Cindybis great. She works with you gives you the pluses and minuses and let you make your own decision. I have worked with her for a while and she's the best
