They did a great job of getting us the best possible lending. The loan process was quick . Everything was explained and they answered all of my questions

I am incredibly torn about this review.
First off, I CANNOT say enough good things about Ed Quon - when he got involved, the closing process took a week.
However, everything up to that point was pure hell. My girlfriend started looking for a new place in February, and found one she LOVED in June. I had started staying with her as it was closer to work for me, but I saw no reason to transfer everything to a house we were leaving so was sitting in limbo for a while. To help with bills, I gave her some money. That was apparently the biggest mistake I could have possibly made (who knew helping the love of your life would cause so much trouble?)
The underwriter who was being used at the time asked for my June bank statements and a gift letter explaining our relationship - standard stuff, no red flags yet. 2 weeks later (the week we are supposed to close) I get told that my gift letter 'doesn't describe our relationship enough' and they need my May and June bank statements. I go above and beyond and give them my bank statements for all of 2020 and 'redefine our relationship'.
Next, I am asked why my bank statements have my old address on them and not the address that my girlfriend is using - I'M NOT EVEN THE ONE BUYING THE HOUSE! The money I have given her is literally 25% of what they said the down payment was going to be - and she ended up not even using it for the down payment because the process took so long that she saved up everything without any help!
So after ANOTHER letter explaining that I saw no reason to change all my paperwork twice because I really DID NOT EXPECT this process to take this long, and 26 weeks of my paystubs and a letter from my HR department (again, note, my name is NOT GOING ON THE MORTAGE!), they are apparently satisfied that I am actually her boyfriend - I had been planning to propose when she closed on the house for a fresh start for both of us, and if I had needed to tell that to the underwriter, I was honestly prepared to get a lawyer.
All-in-all, the underwriter used would give us 'One more thing' literally every 2 weeks for 4 months - we requested vacation time to move twice that we ended up not using. When the closing finally happened, we both waited a week before we were actually willing to believe it because of how many false starts we had. She finally closed 2 1/2 months after the initial closing date we were given.
I would really love to put this review on the underwriter, but I do not know who was used - but I know that if I based this experience entirely on Ed Quon, this would be a 5 star rating. When Ed finally took over the closing and it was explained to him everything we had been through, he involved the VP of the company and the closing happened a week later.
Thank you Ed, you are literally the only reason this is not a 1-star review.
