Nebraska Enterprise fund sadly has lost vison of what they started out for years ago. Recommend staying away from them After working with them for almost 10 years, borrowing 3 times and paying off all 3 pervious loans with interest in full. From my previous history and being establish in business and community for over 20 years especially in North Omaha and serving on multiple success panels for them in the past. I thought asking for a loan to build new shop made sense and with plenty of cash flow in my business no a problem. They now seem to operate like a big bank instead of helping some business owners like they used to in the community. I feel like a minority after working tirelessly with them for over 2 months, summitting all docs/ information needed and going above and beyond to support this loan and show I have the assets to back in up. Sadly I was asked same questions as often as four to five times, even after submitting requested docs. The loan officer seemed to forget things on a regular basis and was dis organized in her processing. On top of that my loan proposal was pushed back multiple times before even being able to get submitted before community for loan approval which resulted in unnecessary delays. After years of helping support NEF in the community and promoting them among fellow business, I will now be telling every business owner my experience and recommend going else where for funding. This just hurts as I could have already been funded elsewhere if not for wasting the last over 2 months here. Stay clear of them I recommend going else where for all your business needs.

My 2yrs experience with NEF ending this week when once again I have been put through the ringer trying to get a small business loan. When this is a company in North Omaha, that is suppose to help and support small business but instead, have made it very impossible for a small business to receive help. Last year I applied for a loan through NEF and I was told that I needed to correct some things on my credit report. So I fixed all that. Also, that I needed to show I had a positive payment history so, I proved that. This year I applied and over the course of two months, they continued asking for paper work, budgets, business projects, business reports, Taxes, bank statements and the list goes on. Each time they ask, I provided to them within reasonable time that which they requested. When they couldn't find anything wrong with that, they request me to show them other things like, money in my bank account before they could give me a loan. And they wanted to know where I got that money from, so I had to provide the deposit slip. I have never heard of a lender, asking for the creditor to tell them what they would use the money for! I've only known lender's wanting the creditor to show how it would be paid back. Well, they required for me to tell them what the loan would be used for, so I did. I provided to them paperwork that showed why I needed the amount requested and still they declined me. They required that I show more cash flow, and another 6 months of positive payment history, then re-apply again. I am a small business trying to move my business to the next level so that I can have more cash flow. This loan would have help me with that process. I will never apply for a loan through this company again. And where they say that they help small businesses, it's not true, they put us through hell and back to only decline us the help we so desperately need.
