Evidently, First Interstate ate my bank. We banked at Great Western Bank for years. It was sold to First Interstate and here we are...a week or so into service. ..and there are already issues. I received a text last night about a suspicious transaction. That's cool. I appreciate that text. I text back it was not my purchase and receive a message back to call an 800 number IMMEDIATELY because a hold may have been placed on my account. I called IMMEDIATELY last night...no answer. Ok, I'll call in the morning, no worries. I called today...no answer and their IS a hold on my card. What kind of bank doesn't have customer service for emergencies??? I went to call the bank directly and they aren't open on Saturday? Come on! I wouldn't be so upset if we had received some kind of notification of how the bank operated and if it would've sent me a number that actually went to a person for emergencies. I will be speaking to my husband about changing banks if this lack of service continues. I rated 2 stars because of the suspicious action text.

I have been a customer of this bank for about 15 years but will be switching as soon as I can get all automatic deposits, etc. changed. They used to have personal, hometown service but have changed for the worst. The people are friendly enough but nobody there seems to have authority to make a decision about anything. Loan decisions evidently are handled by some robot monkey at the home office somewhere. Times have definitely changed, I realize, but if looking for a bank you could definitely do better elsewhere. I am very disappointed with their service. And, as others have mentioned, you have about a 50/50 chance of their ATM working. P.s. I have improved my opinion of GWB, as I finally got my problem there solved. I remain a customer there. My problem, I have since discovered, was with the banking industry in general, not specifically with GWB. Banking has changed dramatically since I was a lower level loan officer back in the 70's.

I don't understand the bad reviews. This has been the only bank I've ever used in my life, not including the Tier One it used to be. Great Western has done nothing but bent over backwards for me and my husband,in ways that we couldn't have done without. We had many special needs as we were dealing with immigration to obtain his green card and they always had the answers we needed, and if they didn't,they'd immediately find out. The lee way they've given us is outstanding and never to be forgotten.

First interstate ruined this place, horrible customer service, it's dumb that I have to spend two plus hours on hold for no one to respond... then call again to wait another hour just to order a new card.. ridiculous

Horrible customer service. One teller will tell you one thing and then another teller or banker will tell you something completely different. We had to call several times and go in twice just to remind a banker of something she was supposed to do to our account . My husband has had an account here for almost 20 years, we will be closing our account. We are tired of having people handle our money who have no idea what they are doing.

They don't have any mortgage loan officers. They're the only bank in town that doesn't have one
