My experience was very POOR. I drove to New Bern to avoid having to deal with the people in this branch. I have been with First Flight since the late 90's and I have never been treated the way I was treated by the Havelock branch. They are in serious need of staff and should invest in customer service training material.

Worst experience ever! I am a veteran and a member of Navy Federal but I thought I would bring business to this credit union. Every time I called, I could never get the representative to answer. I would email instead, and still no response. I was looking to take out a small loan in which I spent over a week gathering every detail they requested. Every document I sent, they questioned every detail of the document. I would be requested to submit more documents to prove the ones I had just sent to them. This went on for over a week. In the meantime, I would call to check on results or updates in which I never got an answer. I only heard from them when they needed more information. The last thing was that they requested a letter from a state that I had once owed taxes in which I paid through my company and asked them that they send the full amount and pay them in full. I contacted the state IRS, and had them send me the letter. Just after I sent the letter stating I owed nothing and the amount was paid in full, I receive an email that the loan was denied. The credit union has every right to approve or deny anyone, however, why waste my time for over a week, receiving every document they requested that proved to them I was a responsible person, to let me know they denied the loan? Mind you, I do not have bad credit either. So, if you are looking to bank with them, have every “i” dotted and every “t” crossed. And I hope you don’t have to call them to discuss issues. I would never recommend this credit union to anyone! In addition, I walked into the credit union to ask to speak to the loan officer, and stood for several minutes before I was greeted. I let them know what and who I was there for and sat in the waiting area for approximately 45 minutes just outside the door of the loan officer that was obviously not doing anything. While I waited, another couple had also gotten tired of waiting and left very upset. I’m telling you, this place is the worst. They do not deserve one star but I had to give it in order to rate.

$5 (non member) fee to cash a first flight check from one of their members. No thanks, I recommend Navy Federal.

Open up your lobby again. Sometimes we need to go inside and discuss things face to face. Covid is not an excuse for slack customer service!
