I AM STILL OWED A REFUND!!!!!
I have been waiting on a refund on my auto loan for over 4 months now. I refinanced my Ford Focus with FBCU in October 2021 after my divorce, the refinance was done with an additional GAP protection, extended warranty and life insurance. I SOLD the vehicle in May, the dealership paid the entire balance on the Loan account. I should have been refunded for the remainder of the GAP, The extended warranty program and the Life insurance that was added on it. Instead I get told they cannot find my loan, or they will call me back and never do. IF I OWED YOU MONEY, YOUD BE COMING TO GET IT IMMEDIATELY, so why is it as a CUSTOMER I HAVE TO CHASE MY MONEY? I have purchased over 5 vehicles, I know how the process works with Refunds, especially with add ons that were built into the Loan, therefore I Know I am owed a refund. Someone please contact me!

So I am going to be very transparent in this review. I have banked with FBFCU for going on close to 16 years. The service the last few years has gone DOWN HILL! The representatives on the phone are down right RUDE. I have been trying to get my money from a deposited check for going on PAST A WEEK now and each time I call I am lied too. At this point I am expecting not to get money at all. They told me my check was going to be available, only to be charged fees. Then told “sorry you were misinformed, no we can’t refund the fees unless it was a error on our end”. Ok, so you don’t think a agent providing misinformation is a error on your end? Then to be told to call on another day to have them release my check funds, only for me to call and them then tell me “I’m sorry I don’t know why they told you we could release your check funds, you will need to wait u til this day.” Ok, fine no issue. I wait til that day, my funds are STILL NOT RELEASED! I call back in, then to be told “you have to wait til end of business day”…..it is now end of business day….guess what? NO FUNDS HAVE BEEN RELEASED! This is my 5th time calling in a week trying to get my MONEY, and when I asked them how to close my account, they were nasty and kept cutting me off. I hate to say that my favorite bank is now the WORST bank to work with. Fair warning, don’t use E-deposit. They will end up holding your money for 1.5 to 2 weeks…..and no it was not a Personal Check. This was a well known PAYROLL COMPANY check. I would understand if it was a personal check. I wish someone at this credit union would actually see this, but I know they won’t. But at least someone may see this prior to setting up a account here. BTW their fees are OUTRAGEOUS!!!! And it’s NEVER their fault!

Customer service is very bad and very slow. I been with this credit union for 46 years. and the service was much better back then. the upgrade is offer.

I was the only patron, Tuesday, 5 April, so my cashiers checque was processed quickly. My issue is with the so-called upgrades, around Ft Bragg. This was my last duty station; I left active duty on 29 September 1993. It seems that changes began, within 2-3 years of my departure. It's nearly 30 years later, and it's necessary to use Google Map to find my way, from place to place! Many drivers have become used to traveling the same routes, but the new soldier at gate 11 told me, HE even has to use Google, to make his way around post! I drove past the Bastogne FCU, and had to double back!

So I refinanced my vehicle with Fort Bragg Credit Union on 12 Mar was told that certified check was mailed to pay off my previous loan. As the loan date neared on 15 April, I contacted the bank and asked why is my previous bank not showing the loan as paid. The stated they were unsure so they would check. Loan officer called me back and stated they would cancel the cashier's check and issue a new one. I continuously monitored my previous bank loan and did not see any changes. I contacted FBFCU and found out there had been no changes to the original cashier's check (no cancellation / no payment to the bank) so now I will owe the previous bank and Fort Bragg Credit Union...never again...never again will I be this trusting.

Worst bank I ever had! They make it impossible to pay loans easily without paying a fee. Website is never working. I'm so glad I'm close to having this car paid off so I won't ever have to worry about then again. NAVY FEDERAL for the win all day!!!

Terrible customer service. I tried making my payment for a week and there website wasn’t working. Called and they said the only other option would be for me to take off work since I work all the hours the bank is open and then drive an hour away to make the payment in person, ridiculous. Got charged a late fee even though it was their fault their website hadn’t been working for 2 WEEKS. Absolutely a terrible place to do business.

If your military AVOID THIS BANK AT ALL COST!! Even if they’re offering to reduce your electric bill!!! They’ve been an absolute nightmare to work with. We financed a vehicle through them and they made it IMPOSSIBLE to pay it off. It took us MONTHS to do it and we had the cash in hand to pay it off. Then when we PCSed and wanted to close the account it was a 305639164 step process to get it closed and get our money. I honestly have no idea how they’re allowed to have a whole military base in their name and be SOO un-military friendly to use. 0/10 stars. I really this helps someone avoid the numerous major headaches we have encountered with this terrible bank.
