One star is kind of generous at this point, but I am guessing MOHELA was not ready for the volume of work this year. MOHELA has been my consolidation loan processor for slightly less than a month. In that time, I have not been able to contact anyone by telephone (average wait time has been 140 to 150 minutes - if I can even get the number to connect) and it has been about 8 days (so far) without any responses to my attempts to contact them via the secure message system (according to the MOHELA message that generates when you submit it should take 3 business days for non-document related inquiries). I have received written correspondence, which was somewhat helpful but it would be more helpful if they offered a chat feature on the website and/or a call back system when the wait times are too long. I honestly never thought I would say this but I think I miss my last loan servicer, Navient. Sigh..

Wish I could leave a 0 star rating. They contacted me to discuss my student loan. The representative then began to ask the typical demographic questions. When she inquired about my address I advised her that I had relocated to take care of my ailing uncle who is 72 and has three types of cancer. She advises me that I am in breach of my contract. I guess for not advising them of an address change. I go on to argue that my current arangement is not permanent and once he completes his initial rounds of chemo which his doctors estimate to be 24 rounds then he will move on to live with his sister and I will move on as well. The representative then asvises me once again about this breach of contract. I had to question was she a robot. While I do not expect empathy, acknowledgement would have been nice. But she robotically continued. Terrible customer service.

I have attempted contacted numerous times to ask a few basic PSLF questions. I was met with wait times as long as 119 minutes and was never able to speak anyone. Only once was I given the “call back” number option and, of course, I was at work when they actually called back (3 hours after I called). Tried to complain on the MOHELA site, as they suggest you to do before calling to complain, and a week later here I sit. Waiting. They ask for patience “during this unprecedented time,” but what happens when they’ve worn out your patience? You sit and wait, that’s what. If you have them, good luck. You’re gonna need it.

I would give it 0 stars if possible.
Tried to call several times, was disconnected a couple of times. Placed on hold for 137 minutes, never able to get through to anyone. Loans were transferred from fed loan services, but haven’t been able to pay my bill for 2 months. This place is a disaster.
No wonder nobody is paying their student loans.
This place is a total sham.

Be warned if you receive letters from this company requesting consolidation for your loans; as they are attempting to fraud you from the $20,000 relief by rolling your loan over into an account that does not qualify for forgiveness. They claim to be "a Federal Office for Department of Education" but they are not.

To whom it may concern, thank you for always taking care of me all these years. I have some new information to update in the system but can't seem to find help to update anything or IT technician to help online with updating. If I can be directed or assisted that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for all you do!

Let me start by saying MOHELA ruined my life. I’ll keep my review short and just hit major points in why I am giving them -1 stars.
1) Interest rates are far too high
2) They report to credit reporting agencies that you’re missing payments when you actually aren’t.
3) Some payments you’ve made don’t show up in their system (stealing your money).
4) Customer service doesn’t care about anyone, they make insulting and condescending remarks on the phone.
This is horrible company, people who work here aren’t happy with themselves. Please just shut it down.

If I could give zero stars I would. This is the worst company to ever exist. They need to be shut down. We have to abide by their rules but they don’t follow their own.
