Do NOT finance anything with this bank. We bought a car in July and financed through them. They required a declaration of insurance which we submitted electronically TWICE and through the mail. They claim that they have never received any of those and decided to tack on an extra fee to our payment. We were able to call and FINALLY get this resolved and were told they would call us with our new payment amount. Over a week later, we received a text message notification stating that we were delinquent for the payment that we never received the amount on. We called again and they were extremely rude and unhelpful.

I've been an account holder and have had loans with FCCU for years. The last loan I took out with them was on a zero turn mower that they required proof of insurance on. I sent the insurance information in on at least 4 separate occasions, spent HOURS on the phone (be prepared for the "you have 35 callers ahead of you" bs), and was disconnected more times than I care to remember without the courtesy of a single callback. I was told that they can only receive inbound calls and are unable to make outbound calls. A terrible customer service model considering the obvious disconnection potential. I'm currently fighting the $1500 insurance charges that FCCU decided to tack onto my loan even though I provided the required documentation multiple times. The worst telephone customer service I've ever had from a financial institution. They need to overhaul their model.

Has always been great service, but it is starting to slip. Recently had a personal banker who did not follow up on an important wire transfer and caused our closing to be pushed back, very frustrating. Also, you can lon longer call a branch, you have to call one phone number and wait in a que, that so far hasn't been less than a 25 minute wait, and the last time I called, as soon as someone picked up, they disconnected the line, and I had to wait all over again. Very frustrating. If this is how its gonna be, get a few more people on the phones, please!!!!

Absolutely horrible. My car payment went up because they tacked on insurance. Now I'm going through hell trying to get the payment back down. When I call, everyone says something different, the only common thing said was no one could get ahold of my insurance company. So I called my insurance company and got what First Community needed within 2 minutes. I bought my car a few months ago, I wish it had been years ago so then I could be done with this place.

TERRIBLE credit union. Nothing is user friendly, no one can help ever. I’ve been trying to pay my car loan for over a month and no one can help. Save yourself time and shop around before getting a loan from this institution. Such a nightmare.

This is a review I thought I would never give! I have absolutely enjoyed First Community and banking with them over the past five years. I’ve had several different loans with them. I have a signed contract with a home builder. A First Community gave me a pre-approval for an amount that was well above what I needed. They receive the contract and then started reevaluating my application and such. They came back and redacted their previous preapproval, and gave me a preapproval that was 40% less. I had paid off debts that were accounted for in the initial preapproval. So this would only benefit my situation. However, they kept changing their terms and their stipulations. I just feel so bad for my realtor/the building company, First Community has had them running in circles.
After this experience, I do not want much to do with First Community.

I have a car loan that I am trying to get started on the app from another institution. Twice it's failed. I called for help... three callers in front of me and the auto system said I'd get a call back. Several hours later: no call back. Now I have to go into a local Walmart just to make a payment. And local numbers are hard to get: everything points back to Chesterfield. Enterprise recommended them. I'm thinking of moving my loan at my own financial institution which is what I should have

When I first moved my accounts to FCCU a few years ago they were amazing! Circle back to now, they are not. If you are self employed, I advise you to seek a credit union that advertises they work with them. I have found a credit union that does that, but I am disappointed I have to now move my personal and business accounts because there is no point keep them here.
