Update: After my unpleasant experience and original post, received a call from the manager of the bank. He sincerely apologized and promised to put more effort into training and adhere to higher customer service standards. I believe they will do better going forward.
Original post:
1. I come in to cash a $4K check. He gives me $400! Seriously? How can you miscount MONEY? Isn’t bank all about money?
2. Mistakes happen fine. Then $4k he says is a lot of money. He needs to call a person who issued it to verify. Lol. Ok called and verified.
3. Now as if I am a criminal, asks me for my social security card and right in my face says I need to verify it is a “REAL” one. Huh? I have been banking with Discover purely online for years, never ever they have questioned validity of my ssn card (better have a system to verify, right). Neither did US Bank or Wellsfargo.
I guess my brown face was too brown after a hot MN summer on a beach?
Racism won’t get you far and chapter 11 is around corner for you along with so many competitors in this space. You would benefit from the org structure shake up and education!
