Worst Credit Union I have ever used. I have been using credit unions since I was 16 never have I experienced such poor such customer service ! Warning you're available balance on website does not match with current balance! Do yourself a favor save yourself some money and join a real Bank I had to pay thousands of dollars in overdraft fees due to their slow system not being able to keep up with my transactions. And after adding cash more than enough to cover my negative balance a very rude member of the management team calls me and says she is canceling my account in a very rude manner?!? So as I said save yourself the headache and trouble in poor customer service and join a real Bank in Traverse City not tbacu you've been warned!!

So I literally just called this morning (7/26/22) and I'm blanking on the lady's name, but she was awesome. I'm a teen and just started my bank account this summer and forgot my account PIN, and she was awesome and super helpful when it came to resetting it. She put up with my inexperience very well lol. Thank you!! :)

TBA Credit Union has been nothing but excellent. Their customer service is great, and I have had zero issues banking with them. I see so many negative reviews that I had to say something. I suppose that my review may be biased though, as I am responsible, work a full time job, and live within my means, which seems to be a rarity these days.

UPDATE: This has got to be the worst credit union I've ever had experience with. I paid my credit card but didn't realize I used my TBA account to pay it instead of my new bank. There was insufficient funds because I had withdrawn everything down to my last penny to pay my bills. Later that same day TBA processed the credit card payment and slapped me with the $35 NSF Fee, of course without any attempt to notify me. I noticed it, called them, and they "don't normally reverse that charge, but they would this one time". And then they wanted $15 to put a stop on the credit card payment request. I literally had 51 cents left! I tried calling my credit card but they couldn't do anything about it. Luckily I hadn't paid my bills with my withdrawal from that day, so I had to go back in early the next morning to sort it out.
Now the city bill was set to automatically pay and that went through 5 days ago. There was insufficient funds again, and of course instead of wanting to help their customers avoid fees, they've just let the $5 Negative Balance Fee run for the last 5 days with absolutely no attempt at communication about this. Not everyone has time to check their bank account multiple times a day every day! We hope that we can trust professionals to do what they're best trained at, but clearly TBA only cares about making money off of us in any way they can.
Original: I usually have amazing experiences at both TC locations and meet with such kind employees, but the lady I talked with today just left me wondering about even staying a customer here. I tried explaining how US Dollar accounts in Canadian banks work to 3 employees today. Two were kind and listened, but the older lady at the Veterans Drive branch argued with me about it. When I tried to get more information about a fee on a foreign check, she did call accounting for me, but then just kept saying "the foreign bank charged us a fee and then we passed that fee on to you." She sounded so smug and condescending saying that. TBA can't possibly afford a $62 fee, so let's give it to our loyal customers and not give them any info on why it was charged in the first place...

Absolutely the best credit union always super understanding & keep their waiting line down quick & professional. Have a car loan and a few other loans through them. And even though they are not open Saturdays I know I can go to credit unions that are linked to them though their customer service is never as good.

I joined TBA about 15 years ago. EXCELLENT CHOICE ! The loan rates are beyond competitive and the people that work there are awesome.
Kat is very personable and she knows how to make everything easy without question. I could do some of my banking online, but I always enjoy visiting her!

A beautifully craftman-style styled bank, not your usual boring interior, it even has a comfy seating area with a fireplace and free coffee and water. More importantly, really friendly, patient and competent staff. I definitely recommend this bank.
