I stopped in last week to open a new account and was told it would be at least a half an hour before anyone could speak to me. There are no teller stations -- just an island and some seating. It appears they prefer you use the teller machines rather than a person. I walked in again today and an employee was seated at the island with a customer. I stood there awkwardly; it's uncomfortable to literally hear this gentleman's banking be publicly discussed with no privacy. I waited five minutes without the employee so much as looking at me. No, "Have a seat and I'll be with you in a moment." Another employee, who according to the website is the manager, came out of his office and nodded his head to me but continued on with his business. When the woman was done with the customer she asked how she could help me; I said I wanted to open an account. As she walked me to an office I commented that I was concerned about the customer service level because I stood for so long with zero acknowledgement. She tapped her headset and simply said, "I was on the phone." Which wasn't even the case because she was helping a man in person. Again I said, well, it would be nice to not wait five minutes without being noticed. She said an icy, "Sorry, I was on the phone." Then changed it to, "I was helping someone." The attitude was absolutely not friendly let alone apologetic; I could tell she was irritated. I left. I'm not interested in a bank that doesn't want to offer actual customer service. Walked into South Haven Banking Center less than ten minutes later, was greeted with smiles by three friendly tellers, and walked out the door 15 minutes later with a new account.

Everyone was so helpful at answering all my questions. Opening a new account was easy and I'm able to use my new debit card the same day without waiting for it to come in the mail. Taylor is amazing and so professional. Thanks for everything.

As always, I was given the highest quality service. I wouldn't use any other financial institution. Consumers is like home to me
Over the years, they have been there when I had financial needs, professionally, highly skilled and courteous. It is good to know that exemplary service is still a standard somewhere.

I never have a credit union or bank that don't hold grudges. I had a disagreement with consumers and we parted ways. Consumers changed the policies for the better of the customer and welcomed me back 4 years later. This honestly it's a good credit union and secure way to keep your money growing.

Ken Overholser and his staff are friendly, professional and efficient! Ken helped me open a bill pay account and took extra time to assist me in contacting some payees that were withdrawing money directly. It was an arduous task just getting through the automaton. Excellent service, once again! I will continue to be a customer and I recommend others to do the same. Thanks!
