Usually a good bank to do business with, but if you get hit with hard times financially quite often, this is not a bank for you. I had a check sent from out of state deposited in my account and was told there would be a seven day waiting period for the check to clear. Well, the check cleared the day after I deposited it so I went in to withdraw $200 from my account only for them to tell me I had to wait the whole seven days to access it. I told them the checked cleared and they admitted the money was in my account, but they told me they could not give me any of MY money until the waiting period was up. I asked for an explanation and the manager would not give me a straight answer. Literally, he said "the money is in your account, but we have to give it a few days to make sure that it's really there." Made no sense. I called the Ithaca branch to send me documents stating their reasons to why they have the right to hold cleared checks. The only reason that applied to me was because my account has been overdrafted several the last 6 months.. While that is my fault that I didn't have enough money in my account to cover my automatic bill payments, I feel like it is wrong to punish someone for having financial troubles. Who are they to keep a hold on my money that I need to support myself and my family all because I've had issues with money in the past? Thanks to them, I don't get to drive anywhere for another five days among other things I have to wait on now. It's unfortunate because I have been with them for almost 10 years and they usually treated me very well up to this point. I won't be doing business with them any longer. If anyone who reads this is with GCCU, I recommend dealing with the Ithaca branch, they seem to be much nicer and more helpful there. The Alma branch only seems to care about getting you out of their hair when you need their help, they definitely don't like to be inconvenienced.

Excellent customer service and the loan officers are awesome to work with! GCCU gave me the best rate and I was notified within minutes of submitting the application.

Well first don't get in no hurry for a loan my wife applied over a week ago they keep spinning her, meaning they keep telling her their busy and will call next day and of course they don't...went through a different bank approved sane day thinking new bank for sure. We needed the loan that day or shortly there after not over a week later.

We went through GCCU for our auto loan and we worked with Wendy. I would 10/10 recommend recommend going through her. We never had an issue with her. Very helpful, very understanding, and actually wants to help the people coming in for their auto loans. We would gladly work with her again.

I would give 0 stars if I could. When our loan officer was out of the office, we had to work with Lisa. Lisa was not very welcoming, did not want to help us because we were not her customers. Refused to answer our calls, did not email us like she was supposed to and denied every car we sent her way. She blew us off. When we went in to sign for papers, we had to wait 20-30mins for her to finish gossiping with someone else only to bring us in and say she wasn’t approving us. She also had an attitude every time we spoke to her so we just said forget it and we will wait for our loan officer to be in.
