We have found all of the people at Farmers State Bank of Oakley to be amazing. The level of customer service is great. Most impressively, they are more progressive than any of the larger banks we deal with.

My first account at Farmers State Bank of Oakley was closed by the bank during a system update they instituted around about 2008. I would have given the place a five star rating before then. When I came back to their facility, they'd changed a lot of things, some related to the design of the interior. That didn't bother me very much. I just regarded it as pretentious and unnecessary. However they may have behaved before, the staff, aside from one single person (I believe her name is Leesa), is absolutely RUDE now, and gave me FALSE INFORMATION regarding the impending availability of a check I'd deposited from my late father's estate. When that mistake on THEIR PART led to a payment I was supposed to make being delinquent for one day, I was not given an apology for what was, AGAIN, THEIR mistake. Either they intentionally LIED to me about the date that the payment would be cleared and funds would be available, or they have some serious staff cohesion issues to iron out. The only reason I even opened a savings account with them again is because my preferred online bank won't let me deposit a check for more than $2500 at once. I've regretted doing business with them ever since. I was very pleased with their service for years. I opened my first savings account there when I was 18, and used that account at their Oakley location and at their so-called, "sister bank," (Farmers and Merchants) in Colby for over a little over a decade. I didn't have much use for an account afterwards at a brick and mortar bank until earlier this year when the check from my dear step mother came in for my share of Dad's estate in Texas. I wish I'd gone to ANY other bank.
Luckily, I have excellent credit and a history of making payments on time (which, to me, means early), so the late fee I would have incurred because of their mistake was waived due to my good standing. If the company I'd made that 24-hour late payment to employed people with the same insolent demeanors as those who work at Farmer's State Bank, my credit rating would have gone down, and I would have had a harder time purchasing the supplies I need to start my business and build my studio. I'm financially secure DESPITE the efforts of Farmer's State Bank, which is the exact OPPOSITE way that a financial institution like this should operate. I would not recommend them to anyone at this point. They are getting two stars because Leasa is a decent and incredibly helpful human being if I could rate each staff member individually, she'd get five stars. The entirety of the negative aspects of this rating fall on the rest of the staff who nearly cost me my entire livelihood.
