Stopped in to simply see if I could purchase some half dollars for my coin collection. I was immediately told no, which is fine, I politely thanked the woman and wished her a happy thanksgiving. Then she told me the restrooms were not open to the public. I hadn’t noticed my daughter had went into their womens bathroom (yes right at their front door is a womens and mens bathroom with a water fountain). I apologized and said I hadn’t seen any signs, (cause there are none), and again more rudely asked if my friend went in there, which I told her yes that was my daughter. I’m not sure what she wanted me to do at that point go in and yank her off the toilet mid-stream?
I have gone into a lot of banks in my life with my hobby, and although I expect to be turned down due to not having an account, I am always polite and thank them for their time, just as I did this day. However, I have NEVER been treated so rudely and felt more unwelcome in a bank as I did today. My daughter has worked in banks since she was 14, and said dad that wasn’t right. I went to 3 other banks that day, and was treated respectfully at all of them and even scored some half dollars!!
The bank in Greenleaf was where I opened my very first savings account at 7 years old. My piano teacher Jane Miller worked there and everyone was so friendly, things have really changed. I would never open an account there now.
