UPDATE. 2 of the managers called apologizing. Both seemed geniune and assured me they'd deal with the problems. Especially Hannah who was so disrespectful. We've done business here in the past but I do believe management is addressing the situation and this was an Isolated incident. WIth difficulty for everyone getting and keeping qualified staff, I appreciate their attempt to resolve our issue. System won't let me change review but I did want to post an update. "Only received 1 star b/c system won't let me do less. We bank with several credit unions but came to Alleguis for a better interest rate on a motorcycle loan. The lady who took the loan app over the phone was nice but she scheduled a loan closing & opening a joint savings in Burns Harbor. We got there, no one knew anything about it. We waited about 45 minutes and left (after both taking the afternoon off work). We were given a card for a loan officer in Burns Harbor. Both emailed and left a message. No one responded UNTIL we called Anna and told her we weren't getting a call back, then suddenly the loan officer left a message. We decided that was not the branch for us so scheduled with Hannah in Hobart for a 3pm appointment. We walk in, she was grabbing her stuff and leaving. Hannah showed back up 20 minutes later. Was on the phone complaining about other members then called us into her office. Her first words were "I'm going to be totally honest with you, I don't have a clue what's going on". I, the wife of the man who was taking out the loan AND the person who was going to be on the joint savings account started to explain. Hannah looked directly at my husband and said "I can't talk to her, I have to hear it directly from you". That was it! My husband was furious. nearly 25 years of marriage and we handle things a certain way. My husband looked at me and said "we're done, let's go". He couldn't believe how HANNAH disrespected me. He was sitting less than a foot away from me. This wasn't a privacy issue, he was right there! It was extremely rude and unprofessional. I was a BankManager at a very large bank in NWI for years. You just don't treat people that way. Needless to say, we've decided not to do business with this Credit Union. UPDATE: Amy the manager called me, she does seem to sympathize with us and feel her employee was out of line. Hope Hannah is repremanded!"

I've been working with Gary since setting my account up and he's been great helping me out every step of the way. They offer great products and services and are very competitive in the credit union marketplace. I look forward to deepening my relationship with them moving forward!

Always very slow service at the Michigan city location. They left me sitting at drive up window for over 10 minutes without any notice of why or reason. After asking I think they had 1 teller working driveup and interior of bank. Poor customer service. They also recently stopped processing PayPal orCashApp ttransactions .

You have to tell them every single time you leave the state otherwise they warm your card. The fraud department doesn't even call you to verify! One of their employees warmed my card bc i live in Michigan and worked in Indiana ( been that way for over a year!) and saw transactions in 2 states. No phone call then either. I do a lot of online purchases and their fraud department wouldn't even let Walmart go thru until I called them. I understand about protecting me but it's super ridiculous!

Do not do business here!! This was the scummiest bank that I have ever encountered. They are not honest, they are far from helpful. They are rude from the vice president to the bank president. Unfortunately when I financed a car this is where the loan was from..... They are a dirty business with only their interest in mind. They keep paper records which is odd to me. Should have been the first red flag however I was young and was totally taken advantage of. Now five years after paying my car off, receiving my title and selling the car they said they have a lien on my car for an unpaid loan through them. But also said I can pick up the title???? Which I already have, when my car was paid off!!!!
Meeting with the vice president, who was just awful I asked to meet with the president and he refused, also odd. I was rational and just didn't want to deal with this awful, unpleasant women and she could not explain anything or figure it out. They lost my paper file and one point and could not track it down. It was an awful experience and I urge anyone to do your banking/loans elsewhere. These are my opinions based off of my personal experience. I have Centier now and they have not only been honest and friendly but have helped me significantly make the right moves for my financial future!

This Credit Union contracted with some cop wannabe armed and wearing a tactical vest tresspassing and snooping around my property in the night. After having a conversation with him and finding out he was looking to do a repossession, I politely let him know that the person and vehicle he was looking for was not here and that person had never lived here. He then continued to try and use subtle threats and intimidation and refuse to leave the property even after being told he was tresspassing several times. He only left when I made it very clear that I was also armed and willing to use force against him if he didn't quit harassing me and trespassing on my property. I called the credit union the following day to speak with them about the situation and they didn't seem to care and just said that is normal behavior for their repossession people. In other words, this Credit Union is okay Contracting with and condoning criminal acts for repossessions. I won't be doing business with this Credit Union and recommend others to find somewhere more professional to do their banking.
