**Do not do business with this 'bank'**. They have stolen money from my now dead mother, myself, and my sister; all before lawyers had to be involved. Their customer service ranges from non existent to straight up criminal. Their 'legal' department either does not know the law, or likely, will lie about what the law is to steal your money. I would sue them if the effort wouldnt likely result in a net loss. This goes all the way up the top level of Old Second, not just this local chain; From Marji Parcell at this bank, up to 'Ceasar' and Julie Fuller at the higher lvl. **AVOID**

I have been a customer at Old Second National Bank in Ottawa for MANY years. They have helped me in the past with all my banking needs. They have been able to help me with every banking service I have needed. Everyone I have worked with has been professional, courteous, and helpful. Old Second is an excellent bank.

There is zero customer service at this bank. Everything you ask for they will simply tell you they can’t do it or try and tell you how to do it yourself. They have no problem finding secret ways to hit you with late fees and paper fees every single chance they get. I would highly NOT recommend this bank, there are many other banks in town that have good customer service and does not need to make their money from stealing from your hard earned cash. I used to have four accounts with this bank including my company and have since removed all four. You have to pay close attention to your account because you will see tons of little transactions from the bank claiming that it is for paper charges even though you have online banking and other late fees even though the money was in the account.

I have been banking with Old Second for close to 10 years and I have been robbed by them TWICE now in less than 2 years. The first time they drained and closed my account was because the said they sent a letter in the mail stating that they would charge a monthly fee if their account holders didn’t switch to paperless E statements, well I never got that in the mail. Now I come to find out that they just drained and closed my account for the second time (I have the E statements, I did as I was instructed and signed up to avoid them charging me) and guess what they drained my account again!!!! because they were still charging me a fee!!!! This is the WORST banking experience I have ever had!! DO NOT TRUST THIS BANK WITH YOUR MONEY!! They have no problem stealing from you and won’t give you your money back! Do yourself a favor and bank elsewhere!

Their monthly statement does come on high quality paper; numbers clearly printed. A+ on the printed monthly statement.
Another plus is their atm has a higher limit. It spit out $600. No problem. Chase has a $400 limit. If you like a personal relationship with your banker this is the place.

I have banked with Old Second in Ottawa, Illinois for close to 10 years and have NEVER been unhappy. In fact, the experiences with my bank family have been the exact opposite! Helpful, kind, considerate, expedient and excellent are just a few adjectives I would use to describe this amazing group of people. Marji, Misty, Erin, Jill, Hailey and Ashley are always willing to go above and beyond for their customers and I would never be able to thank them enough!!!
