I've had nothing but great experiences with Iowa Student Loan. They have been so easy to work with and always incredibly helpful. Because I moved around for my advanced degrees, I have had to depend on numerous lenders, and these guys were by far the best. I can recall at least two occasions that ISL actually helped me figure out an issue because my other lender(s) could/would not.

I got the information about this organisation in mail. Thought of calling and asking details about student loan and various products they provide. When I called, Cody answered my call and for the first time I had a very great experience of talking to an associate from financial industry who was more focused on providing accurate information than selling products. His approach and method of answering my question was very helpful which definitely will help his company as well.
I wish him (Cody) all the very best and also wish ISL good luck. He is a very valuable asset to his company.

We've literally paid more than $150,000 to ISL. Have watched our daughter's loan interest rates rise since Trump took office. Tried to consolidate and get a better overall rate. Jumped through hoops. Each of us (our daughter and my husband and I) has FICO 8 scores of more than 815. They use FICO 4 to rate and so they tell us we can't get better rates. I feel so abused by these people. We've never defaulted, we're trying to pay off faster and get DONE with these f-ers. They'd rather steal more money. You'd think they'd try to work with us. NOPE. Over them. It sucks eggs. I literally hate this company.
Just got off the phone with Dan the customer service manager. That's 12 minutes of my life I'll never get back. There is absolutely NO CONSIDERATION given to being a good "customer" of ISL. My rating of one star stands strong.

Quick and easy process, great interest rates and benefits when doing auto-payments. Nice people on customer service line that are willing to help and easy to talk to. Very accessible via phone, no wait times even during this pandemic.

I am a parent co-signer. ISL gave us a FANTASTIC rate - and I wish I could offer a 5-star review. However, Aspire, who is servicing the loan, does not allow use of their mobile app for co-signers - even though this loan is designed for a parent to assist with payments. In 2023, this is absolutely inexcusable, and it impedes my monthly bill-paying workflow.

This was a terrible experience. I have applied for student loan refinancing in the past. This loan company wasted my time, asking for documents and then changing the requirements after each submission of requested documents. This was by far my worst experience with a student loan company. They have very poor customer service. Hope my experience was the exception, not the rule for them.
