Great, reliable bank. I moved out of the area years ago but still keep this bank because I've never had any issues.

This bank has always gone above and beyond with my customer service needs. The staff is personable--I love not being a stranger. And being able to get help with issues that have come up--mostly from my side! and never feeling like a bother. Also, having banked elsewhere and with accounts in other cities, I can say that their online banking website is the best--better than BMO/Harris, for example, which is significantly more limited. It's truly a pleasure to bank here.

I can understand the need for banks to charge fees. How else would they stay in business, but charging new customers for their first card?! Never have I been to any institution that charges for the first ID card, or any bank that charges for the first ATM card. I have banked with at least 4 other banks (both local and national), none of them charged me for my first one and all but one of them never even charged me for replacements (considering how many times I misplace my card, that is actually quite impressive). Iowa State Bank should be welcoming new customers, not tack fees on them for something that trivial.
What saves this bank from a lower rating are the employees. The employees and bankers are very friendly toward customers and quite helpful, and I understand that they have limited control over these kind of policies. The bank itself is kept clean and looks very professional. It's just a shame about that policy. I will follow up with the review and improve the rating if I get that fee overturned.

I've banked with this place since 2006, I've been very happy with all of the staff and the way they have treated me. I don't even live in the area any more, but I won't change banks because of the way I am treated. So easy to work with.
