Queensborough Bank – NOT good for small businesses
As a small business it's often tough to get additional funding to grow or invest in new development. We are a small business that wanted a relationship with a bank in the hopes that we could do more to expand our business and, of course, further the banks revenue – we were looking for a win/win. We are successful in our area and have a long track record so we thought a smaller community bank would be a great fit. Plus, we were tired of the big banks. We decided to switch to Queensborough Bank after seeing their commercials were they pride themselves on relationship building and helping out small businesses. Well lets just says they have nothing to offer the self employed-small business and dont care about you as a customer. It was a huge disappointment. They have limits on the account that restrict large purchases, without notification they cancel your card due to a foreign transaction (we were on a business trip), we were told they do not allow any foreign purchases, and they even told us to run our business better. They were actually worse, more restrictive, and had less to offer, than the big guys.
Disappointed and frustrated with our experience, we wrote a polite informative letter explaining our concerns and experiences to their headquarters. Shockingly we didn't receive any response – no phone call, no email, nothing. I believe that illustrates everything you need to know about how they think of you as a customer. It has been a huge disappointment and a total waste of time. We will be closing our accounts and regret ever trying Queensborough.
