They say 2% to cash a payroll check. Then they try to charge you 4% without telling you hoping you'll feel obligated after jumping through all their hoops. Crooks. Avoid using this place. Use the other big name store in the same plaza.

This morning I managed to inconvenience the fine employees of Amscot by coming in in need of their services. When I came in and said I was in need of a payday loan and had never been to Amscot before, the cashier rolled her eyes and said I "probably wouldn't qualify" as she gave me the application. At this point they lost my business on pure lack of respect. Because I was already there however, I did the paper work and provided the documents only to be approved for less than I needed. Had the employees even so much as acted like they cared to help us, I probably would have taken it, but because of the passive rudeness I received from the second I walked in the door, I took my business across the street, where they were very happy to serve me. I'd suggest anyone save the hassle and do the same. These Amscot employees don't like to work, apparently.

Upon arrival, when stepping in the door my husband waited at far enough distance not to be in someone else's business until he was acknowledged. A woman in a blue shirt scolded him for not walking up to a window. There is no signs in the lobby that says anything about approaching a window. Then Wanda was very unprofessional. She was rude and disrespectful to my husband. She told him to fill out a new application, then refused the application because of his signature. She said she couldn't read it and therefore could not accept it. He had all his proper forms, ID and anything else they could have needed except a check. All our information was on file and was told we didn't need it because we had already established an account. So when she refused him service he returned home to get me. Once we walked in the same woman in the blue shirt gave us a gesture to walk up to the window. This time I filled out the form and let him sign. While waiting a man of different ethnic then us came in and requested money service with no ID and an alternate last name and was treated with more respect then we were.

Morning management at this store sometimes annoys motorists -- who are peacefully parked far from their store minding their own business -- without justification and if the motorist responds back to them, they'll call the police. I think if Amscot won't show respect to motorists who aren't bothering them, who aren't a security threat and who aren't affecting their business, then they should move away and find another location where they have their own private parking lot, because they do not here, although they act like they do. I think the police would probably agree.

Every time that i cash my check i get a fake 100 bill. This is the 5th time in the last 2 years between my fiance and i. i check my money working as a waitress and in sales. Its pathetic to know they keep getting away with stealing! Either an employee is taking the real money and replacing it with counterfiet bills or accidentally took it and tried getting rid of it before their boss finds out. Next time i will have proof and will call the law.
