I went with Essex for a loan on our boat. We got pre approved and quickly got all of our documentation to them. A boat came in (covid waiting list issue for boats) and we were thrilled. However, my loan agent went on vacation. Which is fine but they did not allow us to work with anyone else while our agent was on vacation. However, after trying to get the status of our loan for just about 2 weeks (almost called daily, each day a promised return call never came) I finally got a manager's number. I left her multiple voice mails only to never get a call back.
I know they have good rates but at this point I am not sure we are going to get the boat as we are already 2 weeks in and the shop is asking when we are going to close.
I would honestly avoid this business if you like to be kept in the loop or time is an issue.
Every time I called in I got conflicting information. I also was never able to get transferred to my agent.
If you are the owner/manager of this company I would suggest you reach out to that division and see if this is normal.
