The manager on duty lied to me. Went there to deposit an old check I had, the manager told me she wouldn't accept it because there's a federal law against accepting checks more than 6 months old. According to the internet in my pocket, that is a lie. It's not law, it's discretionary. Then I asked her if it was true that a check can be written on anything as long as it's got the required information on it, such as a deposit slip, which I happen to know is true, and she said no it wasn't true. Really? So she's either lying or ignorant. Either way she's not qualified for her job. I love RCU but the help at this branch are jerks. I've had accounts with RCU for 30 years, I currently have 2 there. Never been treated like this. She could have accepted it but she chose to give me a hard time instead.

After many years of banking with big institutions, I switched to RCU when they opened a branch in Lake County, where I live. I have their credit card, re-fied two auto loans with them and free checking. It's been a year and a half since I switched and I could not be happier with the service, unbeatable rates, the terms and the trust they have shown me. Also, a super-friendly staff that have the authority to actually help me instead of referring me to call 1-800-I-hate-my-bank-offshore-call-center, and a sparkling clean facility.

I opened an account at Redwood Credit Union and I was extremely impressed with the the kind, caring, and professional but relax ed way they worked with myself and Granddaughter. I left there feeling very good and secure. And I met a new friend.

I am so pleased to have RCU here in Lake County. For me they are just 15 minutes up the road, very conveinent. The staff has always been helpful and friendly. RCU services are top-notch. Of course, that is only my humble opinion.

Yeah not really a 24hr ATM. Doors were locked even as a RCU member couldn't get access

This Lower Lake branch office is the gosh-darn nicest bank office I’ve ever been to in California!
Free coffee/hot water, nice lounge area with gorgeous interior decor, secure ATMs (open 24/7 with your ATM card), mini-offices with closed doors (instead of the idiotic open plan format favored by so many banks, where it’s impossible to keep your business confidential), and a greeter at the front to help everyone.
Another difference that I noted between the spanks, and every other bank I’ve been in – it was bustling! The parking lot was full, many and diverse customers.
We had a 5-10” wait after we arrived for a bank representative, who answered all of our questions, changed a bunch of details for us on our banking profile, printed up new ATM cards on the spot, and whisked us out the door in record time.
Thrilled to be a Redwood Credit Union customer! And grateful to Strohmeier’s Auto Center for getting us set up with an account (RCU financed our loan) when we bought our car in the first place. 👍🏽

So I noticed a minimum balance fee of 3 dollars, I guess if you do not have enough money it costs you more money. Update they credited my share account for when they have to charge me any fees in the future, which is a strange attempt to make me feel some type of way about the fee in the first place. I don't think ANY bank should be allowed to take your money because you don't have enough according to the bank. I asked what specific verbage is in my contact that allows this, but I don't have that answer yet.
