I first want to say that as a whole Ace Cash Express is generally a good company. Today, I had the worst service quite possibly ever in the payday loan industry. It started out decent. Lena assisted me with applying for a payday loan. It was my first time. She verified a few things & in about 5 or 6 minutes I had my money. It turned out a friend of mine was able to loan me money, so I no longer needed the payday loan ($45 interest for a $255 loan). About 2 hours later, I traveled back to the store where Lena was still there. I asked to cancel my loan and said I no longer needed the money. She looked me up and said she was not able to rescind the loan since her “computer was not giving her the option”. I said, “that’s fine, can you call someone to help, I know CA law allows me to cancel a payday loan within 24 hrs.” She started to point to her computer and reiterated she cannot do it. She handed me a slip of paper with the customer service phone number. I immediately called them and just like I thought, they told me they could not do it and it would have to be done in the store. Lena was getting more upset at this time and immediately threw up a “on break- will be back” sign. I waited for her to return and I asked her again to call someone for assistance. She would absolutely not do it and called on the customer behind me while I was at her window. HOW RUDE! So, I stepped outside and called the closest store in San Leandro and Rosita answered the phone. She is a total ANGEL. She was SO HELPFUL! She understood my situation and said she would call Lena to walk her through the process of canceling the loan. Thank god for Rosita! I just want to say that Lena should be NOWHERE NEAR CUSTOMERS. If you cannot be bothered to call someone for help, you have no business working in a customer service position. Lena should be picking fruit somewhere; or stocking shelves. I will never return to the Hayward location due to her terrible attitude.

Will for sure be coming back :) I was helped by Aleisha she is so sweet and very friendly. I was having a bad day and as soon as I walked in she greeted me with a big smile. She helped me out and answered my questions she made my day so much better.

Horrible service. There’s almost always no artendant on duty. And on this day October 31, 2024, I waited for over 15 mins past the time the attended said they’d going to arrive.
